Favourite Grape:
Xarel-lo, it’s great as a single-varietal white to drink at a picnic but of course even better in cava! I’m fairly obsessed with all things Spain and especially Catalunya. I traveled through northern Spain on my own for a few weeks and fell in love with the culture.

Favourite Spirit:
Gin – not to be a broken record, but I love the gin and tonics that they make in Spain where they serve it in a huge wine glass with ice and usually some kind of berry or herb.

Previous Life:
In my previous life, I was in digital media at advertising agencies for 5 years! I still love data, marketing, and making color-coded spreadsheets but it’s much more fun when you’re tracking wine instead of banner ads on the internet.

What Makes You Proud of Canada:

First Job:
Throughout high school I was a competitive swimming coach. At one point I was in charge of a team of 250 kids ages 4 – 18 when I was only 18 myself! Whoever gave me that much power must have been crazy.

Your Indulgence:
Cheesy carbs of any kind – mac and cheese is my greatest weakness in life.

Your Retreat:
My family cottage at Falcon Lake, Manitoba. Unfortunately I only get there a couple times a year, so I’m waiting for teleportation to be invented so that I can go every weekend! I’m obviously biased but I think Manitoba is the best cottage country – much quieter than Ontario and lots of wildlife. We even have bald eagles that nest in a tree just outside!
