Australia – Cockfighter’s Ghost

Cockfighter’s Ghost takes its intriguing name from the legend of the spirit of a horse, owned by one of Australia’s pioneer vignerons, that some say can still be seen galloping through the vines of our vineyard on the banks of the Wollombi Brook in the Hunter Valley.

Founded in 1988 by the late David Clarke AO, former Chairman of the Royal Sydney Wine Show and co-founder and Chairman of Macquarie Bank, the Cockfighter’s Ghost and Poole’s Rock wine labels have become synonymous with passionate wine making which exemplifies the best of regions and varieties.

Today, under the ownership of the Agnew family, Cockfighter’s Ghost wines continue to be made from the best grapes, specifically selected from vineyards and regions throughout Australia, acknowledged as amongst the best for each variety.
