LIFFORD WINE & SPIRITS GROWING PORTFOLIO WITH CANNABIS | APRIL 5, 2018

Lifford Wine & Spirits, one of the longstanding, top suppliers of premium wine to the LCBO,  is now dipping its toes into the cannabis space. Canada’s federal government has decided to legalize the sale of recreational cannabis in the fall of 2018. Sales will be controlled by the provinces, many of whom have decided to set up government-controlled stores, very similar to the system for the distribution of alcohol in the country. In Ontario the LCBO has been tasked with creating a new division called the Ontario Cannabis Store.

Recognizing that licensed producers will need assistance in marketing and selling their products to the government stores, Lifford decided to leverage its expertise by setting up a subsidiary called Lifford Cannabis Solutions. Drawing on the experience of newly appointed Cannabis Portfolio Specialist Lisa Campbell (featured in CBC, Global, CTV, Food in Canada, High Times, Globe & Mail, National Post, Vice), Lifford will be jumping into the cannabis space in order to help bring premium brands to market across Canada.

“My daughter, Lisa Campbell, is our new Cannabis Portfolio Specialist and is a well-respected industry veteran. Lisa has been advocating for drug policy reform for many years internationally at the UN.” – Steven Campbell, President of Lifford Wine & Spirits

Working with licensed cannabis producers, Lifford is aiming to expand its portfolio of premium brands into the cannabis space. Lisa Campbell will be sharing her insights into the emerging industry this Thursday, April 5th at Women Grow Toronto Signature Networking Event, hosted at Lifford Wine & Spirits (471 Jarvis St) from 6:30-10pm. Women Grow (featured in Forbes,Chatelaine, Newsweek, Rolling Stone, Bloomberg) launched in Toronto in September 2015 to encourage female entrepreneurs to take a chance on the emerging cannabis industry. Lifford Cannabis Solutions will also be sponsoring the Leaf Toronto meet up the evening of April 24th at Spaces (180 John St), which will highlight speakers Lisa Campbell along with Princeton alumnus Dooma Wendschuh of Province Brands (featured in Forbes, Vice, CBC, USA Today, Fortune). Building on years of experience as a national alcohol distributor, Lifford is perfectly positioned to expand its expertise into the newly emerging legal recreational cannabis market.
