Nose: Intense and sharp. Slightly spirity. Leafy. Fern. Cherry trifle. White pepper.,Palate: Enveloping and warm. Velvety. Cream fudge. A lot of spices. Nutmeg, cinnamon, pepper. Finish: Long-lasting. Warm. Gently vanishing with almonds and nuts. Comment: Quite a muscular Speysider. The perfect dram to buck you up after a woodland walk mushroom-picking on a cold November day.

Tomintoul Blizzard



  • 3 x measures (75ml) Tomintoul Whisky
  • 1 x measure (25ml) Cranberry juice
  • 2/3 measure (17ml) Lemon juice
  • 1 measure (25ml) Sugar syrup





Add the ingredients together in a shaker with ice and shake vigorously until frost forms. Decant the cocktail into a highball glass and garnish with raspberries and brambles.             


You can always add a little more sugar syrup to soften the cocktail.

Experiment with the garnish- cranberries and blueberries work a treat!
